Madu, Romanus Mgbechibelije is a well-rounded Technical/Engineering professional, with very high integrity. He is the ACIOE Lead on Engineering/Technology. He possess a deep understanding of Project and Engineering development. He has over 15 years of experience in Project Management, Engineering, Power and Oil and Gas. He was a Technical Adviser to the Presidential Task Force on Power (Secondment) where he contributed to the Nigerian Power Road Map aimed at privatizing the Nigerian Power Sector and attracting private sector investment in the Generation and Distribution sectors. He also developed the National framework for remote and off-grid power projects.
As a general manager in Century Power Generation Limited, Belije developed the Brownfield power acquisition and expansion opportunities which included the 187MW Ibom Power Plant and the 1020MW FGN Sapele Power Plant. He supervised the development of the conceptual engineering report of the Okija Integrated Power Project and site layout for the 1500MW CCPP and also developed the Implementation for the project-500MW OCPP phase-1, 750MW CCPP phase-2 and 1,500MW CCPP phase-3.
As an engineer in Shell Petroleum Development Company, Belije led the initiation, feasibility and concept engineering definition phases for Afam F5 gas development (90MMscfpd) and Alakiri Gas project (50MMscfpd). He has developed and managed portfolios of key business and technical activities. He has attended several Facilities Engineering, Economics, Energy/Power Development and Contracting, Project Management and Middle Management Courses. He has extensive competence in Oil, Gas and Power Project Development, Project Planning and Business Planning tools. Also a certified SAP – Project Systems consultant.
He has a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and a Masters in Engineering Management from the University of Benin, Nigeria.
