ACIOE Associates, Corporate Council on Africa Promise to Support the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment On SME Development and Job Creation

As part of the efforts to promote the trade relationship between the United States and Nigeria, the Corporate Council on Africa and other delegates including ACIOE Associates, Shell, Procter & Gamble, IBM, Oracle and the US Embassy paid a courtesy visit to the Honorable Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment, Hajia Aisha Abubakar
During the courtesy visit at the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, the delegates of the Corporate Council on Africa (CCA), led by its West Africa Lead, Ekenem Isichei, congratulated the Honorable Minister on her appointment and also shared CCA’s plans to partner with the Ministry. The plans cover CCA’s key sectors which include Infrastructure, Power, Energy, Agriculture, ICT, Security and Health. He also spoke about the 2016 US – Africa Summit scheduled to hold in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from February 1st through the 4th. Nigeria is expected to play a big role alongside Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda and South Africa.
While receiving the delegates from CCA, the Honorable Minister of State, Hajia Aisha Abubakar commended the Corporate Council on Africa on the visit and stated that the Ministry is very committed to creating more jobs, developing SMEs and introducing favorable investment policies.
The Minister called on CCA’s support for the ministry, while she also advised the delegates to increase their partnership with the Nigerian government in the areas of job creation and SMEs development.
The Public Affairs lead of ACIOE Associates, CCA’s local partner, Ridwan Sorunke, added that ACIOE is committed to tackling complex challenges in the country and has worked with various MDAs and organizations on the development of SMEs in the Creative Industry, Oil and Gas, Retail and Agriculture sectors. He added that the company will be happy to share its short term and long term solutions on the empowerment of thousands of SMEs with the Ministry.
